Southlake Foundation Welcomes New Members to the Board of Directors

Newmarket ON – June 22, 2020 – Southlake Foundation is pleased to welcome three new members to the Board of Directors. Paul Bailey, Dave Greenwood and Kelly Harbridge bring a range of professional experience that will serve to provide strong governance support and direction to the Foundation in navigating a changing world in health care and in fundraising in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Paul Bailey is the owner of Bazil Developments, with projects in Southlake’s catchment area. He has served as an active member of Southlake Foundation’s Philanthropy Cabinet since its inception in 2018.

Dave Greenwood is a senior manager in the insurance industry, and has been a member of Southlake Foundation’s Finance & Investment Committee since 2018. Now with the Board of Directors, he is assuming the role of Treasurer.

Kelly Harbridge is the Vice President of People & Associate General Counsel at Magna International with both legal and human resources experience.

“These new board members are joining us at an exciting time,” said Dave Wattling, Southlake Foundation Board Chair. “Southlake’s communities have been incredibly engaged in supporting our response to COVID-19. Our focus is to support the Foundation in their work to carry this momentum forward for the ongoing needs of the hospital today, and long-term goals to meet the needs of a changing healthcare system and serve our growing communities over the next 10, 20 and 30 years. The expertise of our incoming board members will help us guide Southlake Foundation down this new path together with our communities and the hospital.”

These new additions join fellow board members Barbara Bellissimo, Brian Bigras, Susan Bishop, Geoff Dawe, Janice Dawes, Stephen Elmer, Diane Gajewczyk, Tatiana Hermanns, Ajit Khanna, Gord Lewis, Diane Mason, Christopher Pfaff, Vice Chair Peter van Schaik, and Chair Dave Wattling, as well as members from the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors, Chair Pat Horgan, President and CEO Arden Krystal, and Physicians’ Council Chair Dr. Julius Toth. Together, the Board is responsible for the governance and strategy that engages our communities in support of the most urgent priorities at Southlake Regional Health Centre.

Southlake Foundation extends sincere thanks to Debra Dobson, outgoing Chair of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Board of Directors for her tremendous partnership, along with outgoing Member of the Southlake Foundation Board of Directors, Jud Whiteside, for his years of service and dedicated leadership as Cabinet Chair of the love lives here Campaign to build the Margaret Bahen Hospice for York Region.
