Thank you to our Southlake Nurses

Tuesday May 12, 2020

Not all heroes wear capes. Many wear scrubs. This message could not be more poignant than this week, as we celebrate our hardworking, compassionate and skilled nurses, for all that they do to provide the best care possible to our patients.

This year, as we celebrate National Nursing Week, things are looking a little different. We are in the midst of a pandemic and COVID-19 was not something we could have foreseen. Despite this, our nurses have continued to show up and do their jobs, every day. They continue to care for those who cannot care for themselves.

Nurses play a vital role in providing health services. These are the people who devote their lives to caring for mothers and children; giving lifesaving immunizations and health advice; looking after our older population; and generally meeting everyday essential health needs. They are often the first and only point of care in their communities.

While we cannot celebrate together in person, we want to express our gratitude for our nurses – and all nurses who are fighting the good fight – and wish you all a happy Nursing Week! Thank you for all that you do.
