Discover how Southlake Health’s Distributed Health Network will improve access to care closer to home

Southlake Health is inviting East Gwillimbury residents to attend a community open house to learn more about its plans to transform health care across northern York Region and southern Simcoe County through a Distributed Health Network (DHN), including the development of a new acute care hospital in East Gwillimbury.

The open house will provide community members with an opportunity to hear directly from Southlake leaders, learn more about plans to expand access to care closer to home, ask questions about the future of health care in East Gwillimbury and across the region.

East Gwillimbury Community Open House details:

  • Date: Tuesday, July 7
  • Time: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Location: East Gwillimbury Civic Centre, 19000 Leslie St., Sharon, ON L0G 1V0

In April 2026, the Province of Ontario endorsed Southlake Health’s vision for a DHN and announced a $10 million planning investment to support the redevelopment of Southlake’s Davis Drive campus and the planning of a second acute care hospital in East Gwillimbury. Together, these hospital sites will serve as the anchors of a connected network of care that will also include community-based services delivered through Advanced Care Centres in Georgina and Bradford West Gwillimbury.

The open house will feature informational displays, opportunities to engage with Southlake leaders and subject matter experts, and updates on planning efforts currently underway.
