Southlake’s obstetricians and gynecologists are a dynamic group with a strong patient-centred focus and a commitment to providing the best care possible for expectant parents and babies. Working as a team with our nursing and midwifery colleagues, our OB/GYNs provide 24/7 on site care at Southlake, a busy 500-bed full-service general and specialty hospital serving one of the most rapidly growing areas in Canada. Through their offices, Southlake’s OB/GYNs also offer comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care. Working with a team of experienced and empathetic nurses, they also support and manage patients at the Early Pregnancy Loss clinic. They are committed more generally to women’s health, and provide office and in-hospital surgical Gynecologic services to those in all stages of life.

Dr. Rouselle graduated from medical school at Queen’s University in 1981. He did a 2-year residency in Family Medicine at Western University and a 4-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University. He has practiced at Southlake Regional Health Centre (formally York County Hospital) since 1987. He is currently the chief of the department, a role which he has had several times. He has an adjunct academic appointment in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University. He has served as a member and chair of the complaints committee, and eventually as the president of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (in 2017).
His clinical practice includes office obstetrics, labor and delivery, office gynecology, colposcopy, and surgical gynecology including minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Edwards is an established OBGYN clinician/scientist, who has performed thousands of deliveries and complicated surgeries over her career, as well as published several award-winning publications. She completed her undergraduate degrees at Queen’s University and a PhD/MD degree at the University of Toronto. Her 5-year specialty residency was at the University of Calgary, where she became Associate Professor. She practiced at Rockyview General Hospital, Calgary, for close to two decades before joining Southlake Regional Hospital in 2019. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto and McMaster University. Her subspecialty interest is prolapse and urine incontinence. Her mission is to make a difference one woman at a time.
