Being diagnosed with cancer as a young adult comes with challenges far beyond medical treatment. Concerns about fertility, mental health, relationships, school, and work can make an already overwhelming experience even harder.
That’s why Southlake’s Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program, in partnership with Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, is making a difference. And now, others are taking notice.
We’re thrilled to see The Auroran spotlighting this groundbreaking program on the front page, featuring powerful interviews with Dr. Alisha Kassam, Clinical Nurse Specialist Sam Scime, and Sarah, a young woman who bravely shared her personal experience.
As more healthcare organizations look to Southlake’s AYA Program as a model, we’re proud to help redefine cancer care for young adults across Ontario.
