Your Investment in Southlake

When you donate to Southlake, you are not just helping purchase equipment and technology. You are investing in a new way of delivering health care.

Our physicians, clinicians and staff ask life-changing questions every day: “Is this patient a candidate for surgery?” “What is the best treatment we can offer?” But we don’t want to hear them say: “We only have one of these pieces of equipment. The patient will have to wait.” Or, “We don’t have the equipment we need. We have to transfer the patient.”

This is where you come in.

Your investment is the only way we can keep our patient care facilities up-to-date and give our experts the tools they need to deliver the best possible care for our communities.

Why? The government does not provide funding for most new or replacement equipment. Southlake relies solely on the generosity of people like you to fund everything from basic needs like hospital beds and IV poles to infrastructure renovations to highly-advanced diagnostic imaging technology.

With the support of donors and innovative partnerships, our teams can find ways to deliver better treatments and perform revolutionary procedures that bring attention to Southlake, attracting the best and brightest minds. With the right space, tools and people, we can take care of you and your loved ones just minutes away from home.

At Southlake, we continue to provide high-quality care, despite the increasing demands from our growing and changing communities. Now is the time to come together – as we always have – to ensure we can continue to address our most pressing challenges and deliver the compassionate and leading edge care our communities rely on, close to home.

Together, we can ensure great care is close to home for our growing communities.

At Southlake Foundation, we are proud to have so many passionate volunteers who take on leadership roles. These individuals are committed to helping us improve the health of our communities and keep pace with advancements in technology so the patients we serve can trust they will receive the best possible care at Southlake when they need it most.

The work we do would not be possible without the involvement of the dedicated individuals who volunteer their time to sit on our Board of Directors, committees, campaign cabinets, Physicians’ Council and Philanthropy Cabinet, and we can’t thank them enough for their commitment and continued efforts as ambassadors for Southlake.

Focus Your Gift

Based on areas of health care you may be passionate about, or areas for which you or a loved one have received care, you may choose to support a specific program at Southlake. Information is available below for each of our giving priorities:

Life-changing moments happen at Southlake every day.

Through various campaigns, people face difficult diagnoses, need to undergo life-saving surgery or treatment, and welcome new babies into their lives. Moments can be complicated, full of despair, heart-wrenching and joyous. Our physicians and staff are passionate about being part of these moments every day, committed to working together to make sure the best experiences happen right here, close to home.

You are part of these moments too. When you give to Southlake, you are putting the best tools in the hands of our clinicians to care for you and your family, friends, and neighbours.

Achievements

Through various campaigns, for 100 years, Southlake has shown a passion to care for our communities. From humble beginnings as a six-bed facility, Southlake has evolved into a 471-bed hospital that provides leading edge health care, including regional programs serving a population of more than 1.5 million people. And it’s all possible thanks to the support from our communities.

Our donors have helped build the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre, expand and upgrade our Diagnostic Imaging department, complete with a state-of-the-art MRI machine that is the first of its kind in Ontario, build the Margaret Bahen Hospice for York Region, and they continue to support the ongoing equipment needs across all areas of the hospital through our Men’s Health Initiative, Women’s Health Initiative, and the redevelopment of operating rooms for our Surgical Program.

A gift to Southlake is an investment in health care for our communities.

As an investor, we are committed to working with you to align your intended impact with Southlake’s funding priorities to create a partnership that is meaningful to you.

Whether you are considering a personal gift or a multi-year pledge, a gift of securities, a bequest through your will, or gifts of insurance, among other options, we are here to provide you with the support and guidance you need. Businesses, corporations, foundations and community organizations may choose to be involved in any number of ways, including through their own philanthropic support, sponsorship of our signature events, or by hosting a community event.

As a supporter, you can expect regular and transparent updates on how your gift is being put to work, so that you can understand the impact you are having on Southlake’s staff and patients. We are committed to accountability through reporting back to you on the importance of your partnership.
