Newmarket, ON – The Powell Group of Companies has generously donated $1 million to help create the cancer care our communities deserve.
This investment from Powell Group of Companies is the first corporate leadership gift to Southlake’s HERE is Where Cancer Meets its Match Campaign. This $20 million Campaign will bring the latest technology to Southlake’s Stronach Regional Cancer Centre to ensure our talented clinicians can deliver the best care — and the best chance for our patients to survive their cancer — right here.

Since opening its doors in 2010 the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre has provided leading edge cancer care that our patients need and deserve. The communities we serve are among the fastest growing and fastest aging in Ontario, and the care we provide must keep pace.
Community support like this helps ensure that leading edge technologies, greater options for diagnoses and treatment, and urgently needed spaces are available close to home for those faced with a cancer diagnosis.
This vital $1 million gift will fund The Powell Group of Companies’ Radiation Treatment Suite. It will bring the latest technology to Southlake’s Radiation Therapy Program and expand capacity to meet the increasing demand for care. The HERE is Where Cancer Meets its Match Campaign will upgrade Southlake’s original three Linear Accelerators and add a fifth to allow care for 8,000 more treatments a year.

It consistently ranks at the top of Ontario’s 14 Cancer Centres and has just been selected as the first partner of the Princess Margaret Cancer Care Network.
