No matter how you choose to give, you can make an impact on patients in our communities.
Southlake is proud to be renowned for the life-changing and life-saving work we do every day – but none of it would be possible without the generosity of people like you. From humble beginnings as a six-bed community hospital, Southlake has grown into a 471-bed health centre that provides leading edge hospital services and regional programs, including one of the top ranked cancer care programs in Ontario and the fourth largest Regional Cardiac Care Program in the province.
Our neighbours from York Region, South Simcoe County and as far north as Muskoka – approximately 1.5 million people – rely on us for the best possible care experiences from the beginning of life to the very end, with all the moments in between. Despite rapid population growth, Southlake continues to meet the changing needs of our communities while maintaining a small-town feel that sets us apart. Thank you for helping to make leading edge care close to home possible for the patients and families who rely on Southlake, when they need it most.
Ways to Give
Our communities support Southlake in many different ways – through single or recurring donations, hosting fundraisers, participating in our Signature Events like the Run for Southlake, memorial giving, corporate sponsorships and so much more. No matter how you give to Southlake, you are investing in leading edge, compassionate care for everyone in our communities.
Leading edge care close to home at Southlake is made possible thanks to the generosity of our communities.
Your one-time, tax deductible donation will have an immediate impact on staff and patients at Southlake. You’ll be helping to fund the most urgently-needed tools, equipment and technology – items that are not funded by the government but are vital to the best possible patient outcomes.
Every year, our generous communities contribute millions of dollars to support the most urgent priorities across our hospital.
Those donations are inspired by the amazing care that YOU, our Hospital Family, provide each and every day at Southlake.
No matter who you are or what you do at Southlake, you have the power to impact every patient who comes through our doors.
“I live in Aurora, so Southlake is not just where I work – it’s my hospital. I’m part of the Southlake family and I love running and being active, so that’s what really attracted me to participate in the Run for Southlake. It has a really positive vibe around it, which I love.
Sean, Medical Laboratory Technologist

“I support Southlake so that others can get the high quality of care that I received it, close to home. I’d always been athletic and active, but early osteoarthritis caused me to stop doing almost anything physical. When it was time to have my knees replaced, I knew that I would be in the best hands right here at Southlake. It’s been like a fresh start, absolutely life changing.
Michele, Interim Manager, Quality & Risk
Thank You!
You, the amazing group of staff, physicians, volunteers, and students who make up our Hospital Family, are the number one reason that patients feel inspired to support Southlake with their donations. The excellent care that you provide results in thousands of gifts and positive patient stories submitted every year. We thank you for providing the compassionate and leading edge care that Southlake is known for.
What is Planned Giving? A legacy of giving.
When you choose to leave Southlake in your will, you’ll know that not only will your family be taken care of, but that you’ll also be helping ensure that hundreds of other families will have access to the care they need when they need it most in years to come.
At Southlake, we work with financial advisors to facilitate giving that meets personal and estate objectives and helps support the greatest needs at Southlake now and in the future. We will ensure that any gift you decide to leave to Southlake will provide our communities with the compassionate and leading edge care they expect and deserve, right here close to home.
As a donor to Southlake Foundation, you will be remembered (and recognized if you so choose) by your legacy, which will live on through each of the lives you touch with your generous donation.
Leaving Your Legacy at Southlake
After providing for dependents, family or friends, many people choose to make a lasting impact by leaving a bequest, a gift in a will, to the organizations and causes they believe in. By naming Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation as a beneficiary in your will, you can leave the hospital a percentage of your estate, or a specific dollar amount. You can make a significant and meaningful gift that has little to no effect on your current lifestyle, or on the gifts you intend to leave to your family. Revising your existing will is a simple process, and a bequest allows you the most flexibility and security should your personal circumstances change.
How to Make a Bequest
Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation is pleased to assist you and your professional advisor by providing or reviewing sample bequest wording to ensure the Foundation can accept and use your gift as you intend. Please use the legal name “Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation” in your bequest clause. Our Charitable Number is 13179 7540 RR0001.
The most common phrase we provide to donors is:
To give a specific amount “I give to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, 102- 581 Davis Drive, Newmarket, Ontario, the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to be used for the benefit of Southlake Regional Health Centre.”
To give a percentage of your estate “I give to Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, 102- 581 Davis Drive, Newmarket, Ontario, twenty percent (20%) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to be used for the benefit of Southlake Regional Health Centre.”
To give a specific asset, such as shares in a company “I give to Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, 102- 581 Davis Drive, Newmarket, Ontario, 500 shares of ABC Co. Inc, to be used for the benefit of Southlake Regional Health Centre.”

Recognizing Our Planned Giving Donors.
Southlake depends on the generosity of our communities to help us provide the compassionate and leading edge care they expect and deserve. We couldn’t be more grateful for those donors who have shared our vision to improve the health of our communities, and recognized the important role that they can play in ensuring the best possible care continues to be available close to home into the future.
